  1. To a certain extent, I understand a recruiter's logic in doing this. A boss doesn't want to hire someone who was a poor, or even mediocre, performer at their last job. BUT for the past two years a lot of companies have gone under due to circumstances that were beyond the employees' control. Using unemployment as a hiring bias is cold. Yes, most people lose their jobs because of something they did. However, some lose their jobs because of something their boss did (or failed to do.)
